Teacher Training Program For Preschool Teachers - 2019
Early Childhood Development Activities contribute to safeguard the future of young children who are trying to win the future world.A program for updating the knowledge of preschool teachers was held at the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat conference hall from 07th August 2019 for 14 days.
51 preschool teachers representing all pre-schools participated in this program which is being implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and Dry Zone Development.
The program was aimed at updating the knowledge and skills of preschool teachers and raising awareness of local and international methods of early childhood development.Resources were provided by Early Childhood Development Officers who were trained as pilot trainers in early childhood development.All the teachers who participated were awarded a certificate by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. The program was organized by Divisional Secretary, Mt. Ranjan P. Early Childhood Development Officer Organized by Miss Suraci Lalanthika.



Awareness Program on Cancer - 2019
On the advice of Walallawita Divisional Secretary Ranjan P. Perera, the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat and Productivity Promotion Unit conducted a program to raise awareness on cancer related issues in the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat on October 11, 2019.
During the lecture the participants were briefed on carcinogens and cancer prevention and minimizing the use of polythene. Performed by Dr. Sujiva Gamatige.



Dhamma discussion and meditation program - 2019
Approved Spiritual Development Program for Pelawatte Colony Village selected from the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat under the Sustainable Charity Program implemented by the Ministry of Buddha Sasana and Wayamba Development was held at the Sri Sambodhi Viharaya in Pelawatta on 9th October 2019.

The program is aimed at promoting and raising awareness of the health of the people in the area. Gloominess Gee Enjoyment program - 2019
Under the Sustainable Charity Program implemented by the Ministry of Buddha Sasana and Wayamba Development, the Pelawatte Colony was selected for the village of Pelawatte Colony in the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat on September 22, 2019.
The objective of this program is to enhance the taste of the people of the area and to create awareness among the public on the importance of safeguarding the beautiful songs that are degrading from the present society. Resources contributed.

Children's Club Skills Launching Program and Prize Giving. - 2019
World Children's Day on 05th October 2019 under the theme "Sumithuru Deyadinu Dinawamu Kidha" for children's skills development program in Walallawita Divisional Secretariat area on World Children's Day.
The program was held at the auditorium of the Weerakanda Primary School under the supervision of Walallawita Divisional Secretary Ranjan P.Perera, Mrs. Erangi Fernando, Assistant Divisional Secretary, Mr. Perera and Mr. Ranga Abeyratne. The children were also given the opportunity to showcase their skills and there was a prize giving for all the children.

Two day residential training workshop - 2019
Department of Probation and Child Care Services held a special workshop for the youth of the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat on June 26/27, 2019 at the Runa Kanda Biodiversity Environmental Protection Center.
This workshop aims at minimizing the stigma in young people's minds, demonstrating ways to avoid those problems before they occur, and empowering thoughts, strengthening the spiritual and aesthetic bonds between nature and youth was.Young people in the current society are a very special social group. They are the people who are responsible for the future and the people who are responsible for creating the future of the community.
